Day 5
CHASE
Psalm 23:6
Surely your goodness and love will follow -(CHASE)-me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.

CHASE is the heartbeat of every athlete, an unrelenting pursuit that refuses to settle. In football, a player chases the ball, the opportunity, the opening, and the victory. In life, God calls us to that same determined pursuit; to chase purpose, righteousness, excellence, and the destiny He designed for us. We do not wander; we chase after what matters because purpose is never passive.
In the game, a chase requires quick reaction, sharp focus, and the readiness to move when the moment appears. Life mirrors this. Doors open unexpectedly, opportunities arise suddenly, and God nudges us toward seasons we must pursue boldly. To hesitate is to lose momentum, but to chase is to step into divine timing. As Scripture reminds us, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might” (Ecclesiastes 9:10).
Every chase demands energy and determination. The ball doesn’t always fall at your feet; sometimes, you must sprint after it. Blessings, breakthroughs, relationships, and spiritual growth often require the same intentional pursuit. God promises that those who chase Him wholeheartedly will never chase in vain. “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
In football, a defender chases down danger to protect the team, just as a striker chases the chance to score. In life, you must chase away fear, doubt, and distractions, and chase after faith, courage, and the voice of God. This is how spiritual champions are built, by pursuing what strengthens and rejecting what slows. Paul captures it clearly; “Pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace” (2 Timothy 2:22).
Chasing also requires resilience. Sometimes you miss the ball, stumble, or arrive late. But champions rise and chase again. Life offers the same reality; setbacks do not stop the pursuit; they sharpen it. God strengthens those who refuse to give up, for “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord… though he fall, he shall not be cast down” (Psalm 37:23-24).
And ultimately, the greatest chase is toward the calling God has placed ahead of you. The pursuit of destiny is not a sprint but a committed chase, marked by faith and obedience. Like Paul, we chase the upward calling of Christ-not for earthly applause, but for eternal reward. “I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me” (Philippians 3:12).
So, chase with passion, chase with focus, chase with faith. Because what God has placed before you is worth pursuing, and every step of your chase brings you closer to the victory He has already prepared.
