UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

1 Timothy 2:1–4 — “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people… for kings and all those in authority… who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

The United States of America, located in North America and spanning coast to coast, is home to about 335–340 million people, making it one of the most diverse nations on earth. The nation’s spiritual heritage is deeply rooted in Christianity, with Protestant, Evangelical, Catholic, and Orthodox traditions shaping its history, alongside growing religious diversity and a rising secular population. As a global leader in culture, media, economics, and missions, the United States carries outsized influence — both spiritually and strategically —among the nations of the world.

Paul’s exhortation to pray for leaders and all people speaks directly into the American context. In a time of polarization, cultural tension, and global responsibility, the Church is invited to intercede boldly, trusting God to bring peace, repentance, and spiritual renewal that flows beyond national borders.
